Try outs for the 2008 Sisters Little League baseball season
will be held Saturday, March 8, at the Sisters Middle School.
Registration forms erroneously listed March 3rd.
Players will demonstrate throwing, catching, fielding
grounders and fly balls and hitting.
Minor League “A” player-pitch players, nine to ten
years of age will try out from 10:00 am to 12 noon.
Major League players, age eleven and twelve will try out at
from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
“If the weather is fair, tryouts will be outside on the
Sisters Middle School ball fields behind the gymnasium”
according to Davina Luz, Sisters Little League President.
“If the weather is wet, we move inside to the Middle
School gym. Players should bring either cleats or tennis shoes
and a glove.”
Parent and volunteer coaches “score” each child
for a draft the following day. Players are mixed and matched so
all teams are competitive.
T-Ball players age five to seven and Minor “B”
coach-pitch players, seven to nine years of age and girl
softball players do not need to tryout.
Team rosters will be announced at 6 pm, Tuesday March 18th at
the first ever Sisters Little League Announcement Gala. The
night will feature cakewalks, baseball related games and
activities, a silent auction and general kids-type fun.
Practice begins later in March. Opening Day ceremonies and
games are scheduled for late April.
