Establishment of the "Ian Ferguson Memorial Scholarship Fund"

Many people were moved by the recent tragic loss of Ian Ferguson, a standout Little League player, volunteer, and coach with the Sisters Little League.  Read Ian's nuggetnews.com obituary >

Ian was working in Fresno, California at the time of his death and his co-workers asked Ian's father, John Ferguson what they could do as a rememberance.  John told them that Ian loved baseball and enjoyed coaching in the Sisters Little League.  As a result, they collected $3,472 for the Sisters Little League. 

When notified of this generous gift, the SLL board immediately met and resolved to create the "Ian Ferguson Memorial Scholarship Fund". 

This special fund is to be held for the exclusive purpose of providing league membership dues and / or equipment to children in need that would otherwise be unable to play Little League baseball in Sisters for financial reasons.

The generous gift was presented at Ian's Memorial Service and Celebration of Life on July 25th to Sisters Little League Board President, Davina Luz.  It was reported that nearly the entire 2006 Junior's All-Star team was able to reunite to attend Ian's service.

Additional donations in Ian's name are welcome, but SLL is currently unable to accept donations online.
